After his 1st single – Global Concepts – went to No.1 on most radio stations around the world, including South Africa, Robert DeLong is bringing his heady mix of indie style vocals and lyrics underpinned by a proper club groove of house, electro and, of course, the ubiquitous Dubstep hook thrown in here and there for good measure to Johannesburg for an intimate gig that will leave both indie and electric fans screaming for more.
Experience this up and coming musical talent in an intimate and exclusive setting for one night only at The Sands in Sandton, on Sunday August 11th from 2pm.

The emergence of the eco-friendly ‘green’ trend a few years back saw many businesses jump on the band wagon and fall off; however, one business that is still sticking with the environmentally friendly approach post trend is Midori Salon in Sandton. Midori, meaning Green in Japanese was conceived by Anisha Patel with the salon using only recyclable products, eco-friendly paints and natural fabrics in all the décor layout.
We recently attended the hair and makeup fashion show by the stylists from Midori hosted at ‘The Venue’ in Sandton, the venue itself lived up to its name by being one of the most magnificent venues in Joburg. The guests dressed in black and gold for the night’s theme gathered around for what was a rather interesting showcase of hair and innovative makeup techniques.
Spotted the crowd were the gorgeous Vimbai Mutinhiri as well as Miss SA Melinda Bam and PR guru Thulane ‘Toolz’ Hadebe. Overall the crowd seemed thoroughly entertained throughout the night except for a low point with a comedian who did not quiet hit the ‘funny bone’. This was compensated for with a variety of prizes given out and splendid goodie bags for the guests at the end of the night.
Overall the salon is a must visit for anyone in the Sandton area but don’t just take our word for it check out the pics below.
